Thread: Petition to Microsoft

I would guess that they lost money on Flight. The problem with a petition is the horse has already left the barn. With L-M continuing development on P3D, Microsoft has been left behind. It would take a lot of effort to catch and I don't see them doing that now, especially after the $6.2 billion write off for aQuantive. They've definitely lost their mojo.

Yes someone is going to leave their high paying post, work on FSX SP3 for three months, and then get shown the door when the project is done!!! You'd have a better chance of convincing MS to give us the SDK and let us sell our own addons through the store.

"The REAL flight simmers would like to stand up to Microsoft and demand that ACES/FS Development team is brought back!
Come on! Let's work to get FS2013 and FSX service Pack 3!"

    Ahhh, the naivete of youth.

The only mystery in life is why the kamikaze pilots wore helmets.

The helmets were made of leather and canvas, and held the radio speaker over the ear.The kamikaze pilot's helmet merely helped him complete the trip, not survive it.
    Mystery solved!

    On Topic
FSX (and the MS Flight Simulator Franchise) doesn't need a kamakaze helmet (another sp), missing the boat has become a given unfortunately.

The MS Flight Simulator Franchise needs a re-design able to use todays hardware roadmap (multi-core CPUs/robust GPUs) efficiently in order to fulfill Microsoft's stated (and now dubious) "commitment" to the series. Simple concept, but expensive I'm sure, hence the FS dilemma for Microsoft. I don't see it happening with the current yahoos in charge.

Nothing wrong with the current FS why do we need a new one when the community are still building and making the ones we fly better.

Microsoft is not the solution, it's the problem:

I'm glad I could find a much better flight simulator.

The petition is a gallant effort but as others have said needs great numbers. The real petition is to sack Balmer. Ever since he came on board MS has been on the decline. The man is out of touch with the market and reality. MS needs to get back to the geeky days of Gates.

Maybe someone with balls and good sense will reactivate the proper flight sim project...but I wont hold my breath
