First...............I'll take exception to MdMax's comments..............because I found FSX very favorable over FS2004 in most cases, and it ran much better than a slide show on my machine. In fact, I purposely upgraded for FSX &
X-Plane 8, because my prior CPU was simply not capable.
As to "Callmecapt", we must keep in mind, that he is a 3rd party developer for
X-Plane. His income depends on it. The DC-3 shown, is one of his products. I'll say it all the time................
X-Plane must stand on it's own. Don't be using the worse excuses you can find for FSX to make points. If I were to list all the worse points of
X-Plane, it would look like a pending disaster to someone who's just got into flight simming.
IMO,
X-Plane can be much more than just graphics. Do the flight models beat FSX hands down? Of course NOT! Only
X-Plane developers will tell you that they do.
X-Plane has a different method, than FSX to compute flight models........but it's not perfect by anymeans. Only
X-Plane developers will tell you that it is, or very close to. While an
X-Plane (real pilot) user might incinuate that
X-Plane is far ahead in the flight dynamics department, I can tell you (as a real pilot) that that's far from reality. Otherwise, I'd be jumping all over
X-Plane and never look back. But that's not the case. FSX is far from dead, and outstanding aircraft with exceptional flight characteristics are still being developed and sold.
As to myself, I'll use FS2004, FSX, and
X-Plane. I have no problem with that. Just remember, XP needs to stand on it's own. I get very irritated with the "hype" that uses FSX as a whipping post. Especially when it's a bunch of bull!
