The processor is the fastest I've seen for a laptop under a 1000$ but I wanted to get some opinions about this laptop. It is 799$ the processor has two cores.

The processor is decent for a laptop, but the GPU is on the low side. Although with the low resolution screen it may be okay at mid range settings.

For a GPU I would look for something in the class 1 or 2 sections in the link below.

I can't change the grahics card but I guess it is better than intl HD grahics 4000. Does the grahics card effect fps i don't need high setting just medium and medium high. That is a really good processor for a laptop right. It is better than the i5 2.5ghz with turbo boost to 3.5ghz

It's ok and since you don't need it at high settings it should work. You're gonna need to tweak FSX a lot to run it decent. For FSX it's better if you stick to nvidia gpu's...I've ran FSX on two laptops, a Sager and a Qosmio, both beasts laptops with no issues, but you need to up your budget if you want to run it on a laptop.

Actually, the Intel HD 4000 GPU is pretty close to low end mobile AMD GPUs like the 6470m. I would expect something in the 20fps range, if you aren't very aggressive with the settings. Mid level settings are probably the highest you will be able to go.

The GPU definitely has an effect on frame rates, especially at the low end. It's only when you get into the high end that the effect of the GPU drops off pretty quick.

What about a NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 650M Graphics with 2GB GDDR 5 video memory and a 3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz) with 8gb of ram.

That would be much better and should keep you solidly in the 20-30fps range with mid level settings. Highly detailed cities and add-ons will still cause frame rates to drop, but shouldn't be too bad. Keep in mind that performance is also very dependent on the type of flying you like to do. PMDG aircraft over a very detailed city and airport is much more demanding than a bush plane in the middle of nowhere.

The CPU and GPU need to be balanced against each other. A top end CPU can easily be bottlenecked by an entry level GPU. Nvidia's latest 650M GPU is a pretty nice GPU, and pairing it with a faster CPU would be even better.
