The UIAutomationCore.dll seems to be essestial for FSX and Windows 7 operating in 64 bits. Otherwise, you may be getting the same "Fatal Error" messages followed by a shutdown that is hurting a lot of other FSX users, as evidenced by numerous people like me reporting the problem in various forums on the web. One place where it may be downloaded is http://www.mediafire.com/?mik2mlqdz1w After saving it to your desktop or a folder, right click on extract all, extract the zip file, then using Windows Explorer drag the UIAutomationCore.dll into the main FSX directory. Apparently, FSX is a 32 bit program, and the UIAutomationCore.dll makes it work like a 32 bit program, thus preventing the fatal error messages that can come after serveral hours into an otherwise very satisfying fight. Moreover, for some users it speeds up their frame rates, and improves their display usage over dual monitor setups.
Thanks Charan Kumar for offering this solution!

Yes it can be very useful, but, it is not always needed! It is only recommended for Mouse and Menu Crashes.
It is not necessary, at all, for early Vista releases or XP, because they already have compatible versions.

With the latest updates installed for Vista or on any Win 7 version, not only the 64bit flavors, the uiautomationCore.dll in ...\Windows\System 32\... may no longer be fully compatible with some hardware/software combinations.

The UIautomationcore.dll version 6.0.6001.18000(also posted above) or UIAutomationCore.dll version 6.0.5840.16386 is placed in the FSX main folder only, so, other apps that were written for the latest Vista/7 OS will not be affected.
Those are the only two I'm aware of that have been fully vetted by the community, and either may, or may not, work.
I suggest trying one, and if it doesn't help, try the other. If neither corrects or helps the issue at hand, it may be best to remove it.

How it can speed up FPS or improve multi-monitor performance is beyond me, seeing it has zilch to do with the display or it's properties.
