I never saw it either. I think the software treats the throttle as part of the yoke unit so you don't see the yoke separately. You don't really need the Saitek software to get going. Do the setup entirely in Windows.
Go into Game Controllers in Windows Control Panel. If your Saitek unit is plugged in, Windows should recognize it. You should see the graphic that lets you test the wheel positions and slider (throttle) levers. Then go into DEAD ZONES and move any one of those sliders just a bit. Set them wherever you want, but you have to move at least one of them at least slightly in order to activate the SAVE button so you can save the settings. Put the DEAD ZONE sliders back where they were if you want, but you have to jog one of them first so you can SAVE. This basic setup will set the black lever to operate all engines, and the other two will operate fuel mix and prop pitch by default.
The Saitek software, which does a very good job of doing what it does, isn't needed to get going. It allows you to customize things in complex ways if you need that option.

I think next I'd try another computer. You need to identify where the problem is for sure. At this point, you can't tell if it's the throttle itself, or FSX or the OS, etc.
No need to install FSX for the test. Just put the control and throttle on a different computer somewhere and see if you can make the adjustments in the control panel - game controllers. Is this a brand new throttle? Does it plug into the yoke or directly into a USB port on the computer?

  5. Default

    plugs in to the yoke
