Default FSX: a fatal error has occured, nothing works.

    Hi everybody.

So my problem is that under midflight in FSX it suddently says a fatal error has occured. It happens often when i use the menu much or changing views. It doesn't send me any error code.

I've heard of this problem a lot and I've researched thousands of hours and tryed everything I could find. Like download the UIautomationcore.dll and place in my FSX folder, reinstalled FSX and my addons, change settings and much more.

I use FSX with acceleration installed and I run the program in windows compatibility mode.

here's a list of my addons:

    MyTraffic X

    Ultimate Terrain X - Europe

    Ground Environment X - Europe

    Aerosoft's Airbus X

    EZdok cam
    I'm using a brand new Alienware M17x R4.

I hope some of you can help me! This is my last chance.

Just from checking older posts on this forum site a lot has been said about FSUIPC and uninstalling it and also excessive heat build up in the computer case. Make sure nothing is blocking fan vents on your new computer.

    P.S. Nice looking laptop!

Nothing is, I've always had this problem. I'm honestly pretty bad at computers so I have no idea what to do now.

Have you tried Jesus "Bojote" Altuve's Auto-Tweaker for FSX? It has done wonders for others. Simple & Easily reversed.

There are two uiautomationcore.dlls that are known to work for menu/mouse crashes. Try 'em. Sometimes one will, the other won't...Don

    UIautomationcore.dll version 6.0.6001.18000
    UIAutomationCore.dll version 6.0.5840.16386

If it is a new computer running Windows 7, you should not need to use windows compatibility mode.Just run fsx.exe as is(double-click it or make a shortcut).
I too have a decent lap-top (i7 processor) but I tried to run FSX on it without success (low fps, jerky etc) compared to my i7 desktop so I stick to it now.Lap tops are not really suited to flight sims, at least not FSX, unless the sliders are turned down and you keep the heat down.

I agree with johnan, you should not need to run FSX in windows compatibilty mode, I run FSX with Win7 & I dont run it in compatibilty mode.

I get this error ALL the time. Normally when I use the menu at least 20 times or view AI Traffic at least 5-15 times. I just live with it. I get about 20 of those errors each day! I know how annoying it is.

Foe Windows 7 try "run as administrator" (right mouse button select popup context menu, then left mouse button to run).

In Windows 7, some programs actually require it -some versions of AKARs as an example.

32 bit FSX was designed long before 64 bit Windows 7 and cannot use all of its power and features.

    Good luck --

Stop any other program(s) that keep(s) connection to the web specially up-daters (browsers are okay but close them anyway). Any antivirus or malware program nowadays can be switched to Game mode, so do it before entering FS and the other addons. Don't use comparability thingy, not needed.

    Cheers,

    Hi.

Yes, I have tried the auto tweaker.

About the UIautomationcore.dlls, I have installed them both, but still doesn't seem to work.
