Thread: Chart question

You under most cases can fly direct, but a pre-set TEC route would be the preferred method of travel between KPOC-KLAX due to the possible high traffic levels at KLAX. I like to use http://skyvector.com/ for my flight plans, I made a route similar to what fxsttcb said. I would after departure at KPOC, turn direct POM (freq 110.400) then proceed direct PDZ (112.200), then continue on with what fxsttcb said. I clicked flight plan next to the search on the skyvertors and typed in this: kpoc pom pdz270 klax, to get what I got.

"Amazing how lazy some people are. "
Apparently you are too lazy to click on a link, type in 3 letters and hit enter. The height of hypocrisy!

    Hi Bruce,

I actually do appreciate what you're saying and you have a valid point. Having said that, let me be more specific about what I was trying to get across...

What I was trying to convey was, and I'll use my example... I asked what does "PDZ" mean. If someone asked me, and I had the knowledge that some of you smarter people have, I would have replied something like, "PDZ is a VOR".... if you want more information, you can go here (post link)".

I have a BUNCH of links in my favorites that I got here reading different threads and I study them all the time because I really want to learn. I may sound lazy, but I really have been making a lot of effort in learning stuff from the links i have and to be honest, since I joined "Vatsim"... I have learned more in the past month than I have since I bought my first version of flightsim.

In closing (hind sight is 20/20) I should have kept my mouth closed regarding Jim's reply. So in all fairness, I owe him an apology. He DID take time to reply to my thread and I saved that link he posted. Don't blame him for putting me on his ignore list...and don't expect him to remove me from that list.

Hope this reply more accurately relates how I feel about posting links.

    Mith,

You might be surprised to know that MSFS has lesson modules that teach you basic VOR navigation. It would behoove you take these leessons before attempting advanced navigation procedures you are unable to comprehend. Reminds me of people who purchase expensive electronics and attmept to use them without ever reading the owners manual and then complain because they can't get it to work! Fellow simmers and I that actually took time to learn the basics of VOR navigation know that VOR's in the U.S. all use 3 letter identifiers, and if you actually KNEW how to read the chart as you indicated, you would have plainly seen it. So please do not blame the moderator for your inexperience, he has actually been very helpful to others many times.

Hi harvesttx... you're right. I have actually tried the lessons in FSX... I have yet to pass them. In fact, I've tried to take the pilot test numerous times and I guess I'm not smart enough right now to pass them, but I DO appreciate your pointing out that they're there to take.

As far as my comment about the moderator (you probably didn't see my post) I did apologize for my comment in public. He gave me a valuable link which I have saved into my favorites. I also clarified my feelings about replying to a post with a link (you may not have read that either).

Either way, I appreciate your reply and respect your opinion. Again, I was wrong to reply to Jim's post the way I did. If I offended you, I also apologize to you as well.
