Thread: Chart question

  1. #1

    Default Chart question

I was studying the chart at ZLA just to get more familiarized with what i'm seeing. I always fly from KPOC to KLAX, so that's the route that I created. I used a chart to do it (http://vfrmap.com/?type=vfrc&lat=33....18.408&zoom=10).

Sometimes the ATC's give you different guidelines (be it because they don't know or what not). I learned that you have to use, "TEC" routes to KLAX and can't fly direct.

Anyway, I found this, "TEC" route, "PDZ PDZ270R LAX RWY 24R LOC". I think the 270R is the radial from KLAX. 24R is the runway. Don't know what LOC is...

But I really want to know, what is "PDZ". I can't find it on the chart.

Anyone know what that is? (PDZ)?

    Go here:

    http://www.airnav.com/navaids/

Punch in PDZ and the information will be shown. I tried to direct link to it but could not.
    Thanks,

    Jim

PDZ is the Paradise VOR southeast of POM(Due east of LAX). PDZ270R is the Paradise VOR 270deg Radial.

From Brackett Field direct to PDZ turn right intercepting the 270 Radial then on to intercept the Rwy 24R Localizer. That doesn't guarantee 24R though. If it isn't the/an active, the controller will vector you to your assigned Rwy long before you get that close...Don

First, thank you for actually answering my question!!!! I can't understand why some are so hesitant to just answer a question as opposed to giving a thousand links where you can find your answer.

IF you feel you MUST be lazy and just give a link, at least answer the question, THEN you might say, "for further info"... go here....

Amazing how lazy some people are.

Please pardon me that I didn't have the time to include all the details for your use. Maybe the link will be more helpful for someone else who is more appreciative. No need to worry about me ever answering a post of yours because you are now on my ignore list!
    Thanks,

    Jim

And you're a moderator... heh.... being on your "ignore" list is not something that would bother me Jim (oops, I'm on his "ignore list"... he's not reading this")

What a childish response to a moderator who's trying to help you! I don't blame Jim at all.

You apparently didn't understand the intent of my post... besides, why is it necessary for a mod to say I'm on his "ignore" list in public...... very very unprofessional IMO

    fxsttcb actually answered my question....

Jim also gave you a useful link.
All you had to do is follow it and look up the information.
    And you call him lazy.

I,m one of those "lazy" people who will post a link that provides an answer. The links I post give a much better answer than I could. Most of the time I use Google to find a link to the answer for the OP. How does that make mew lazy?

"Amazing how lazy some people are. "

Apparently you are too lazy to click on a link, type in 3 letters and hit enter. The height of hypocrisy!
