recommend a good F16

Hi all,

please don't shoot me down if this has been asked before! can you guys recommend a good F16 jet for fs2004? I've searched flightsim, but my main must is that it has to have a good vc. The ones I've tried have either no vc or a poor one.

This is the definitive F-16 for FS9, and you are correct, it has a basic VC.

FS2004 RNoAF F-16A MLU M4. An F-16A MLU M4 Fighting Falcon of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. The MLU M4 updates introduces a software tape enabling the aircraft to carry and deliver the latest air to ground munitions like the JDAM. In addition to the already advanced and highly capable AIM-120 AMRAAM, the super agile Iris-T short range air-to-air missile has been introduced, replacing the AIM-9L Sidewinder. The Pantera targeting pod makes a new dimension in air to ground missions used together with the new HMCS (Helmet Mounted Cueing System). The Pylon Integrated Dispenser System has the ALQ-162 ECM pod built-in and complements ALQ-131 ECM pod, carried on the center line. PIDS also enables carriage of more chaff, housed in the pylon. This model includes special Norwegian modifications to the basic F-16 like the drag chute compartment, night interception search light and a typical RNoAF weapon loadout of AMRAAM's, Iris-T's, GBU-12's, PIDS and ALQ-131. Wow! Thanks to this thread, I downloaded and installed the F16 usviper.zip add-on aircraft and I am having a blast!

I love flying the Lear and the heavies but the responsiveness of the F16 is something else.

It took some practice, but Landing is a thrill all in itself.

Please don't ask me to land on a carrier just yet... the damage would be extreme! (not to mention the water pollution!)

Landing on a long runway has been a challenge... Just when I thought I had it aced, I ended up flipping my F-16 on the taxiway. I must keep telling myself, "brakes are your friend!".

As ex USAF (304 Ground radio) I am starting to understand why the fly boys get the big bucks.

Didn't know F-16 were fitted with tail hooks for stopping on a carrier!!!!

They never were and never will in my honest opinion, I think he's just pulling you're leg to try it

You've both missed my point (he says as gently as possible). I'm not pulling your leg. ANY plane in FS9 can be fitted with a tail hook, simply by putting an appropriate [Tailhook] section (3 lines) in the aircraft.cfg file. Of course that won't give you a visual tailhook, but it will be a "working" one and you can then do carrier landings with it.
