Thread: [Question to FS videographers] Fliming: how would one achieve this shot?

  1. Default [Question to FS videographers] Fliming: how would one achieve this shot?

I am trying to make a short clip, to be used in a green-screen situation. It's a couple seconds in length, capturing an aircraft taking off and (hopefully) part of the gear retract process. The following chart describes it nicely.

This is my first time trying to use a "fancy" angle, sort of like what the cool Youtubers and scenery developers do. I've totally no idea how to go about this. Been fiddling with FSrecorder for abit, but still cannot understand at all how to achieve this angle.

Any advice is appreciated. Please help.

    How about using the tower-camera?
You can reposition it to sit somewhere in line with the runwa and it will track the aircraft.

If you are using fsrecorder the you can first record the plane taking off.
Then you replay it while you are in a second plane sitting on the ground at the right spot.

    Hello,

    If you use FSrecorder
    http://www.fs-recorder.net
You can go everywhere you want and save the position
You have just to ask from the menu to make a new view .. and after you can move your point of view with the keys of the numeric keypad
    After you save it
    You can made many
Your record your flight and when replay you can choice one of your point of view (from the FSrecorder menu) ... (and eventually change it again with same process ..)
Of course you can also change the view parameters by typing (with the option Edit)
In this video I use many view points:

    Another:

This what you want .. lol

    Hope it's help

If you gave a couple of monkeys a box of ballpoints, enough paper, and enough time, they'd eventually finish up writing the complete works of Shakespeare

    Hi Jeroen,
Thank you for the suggestion. This seems to be the simplest and most logical way of doing it (I use a similar method with Trainz and invisible tracks) but how do I get into a second plane??

Hi Avechelice, I have tried FSRecorder but the whole thing don't make sense at all. So I have cockpit and walk modes, I go into walk mode and can "walk around" the aircraft. What's this mouse stuff that is activated with CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE, I press and nothing happens. How do I change stuff like camera pitch/yaw, and more importantly the zoom. Is abit stupid, I scroll out, it zooms out. I scroll in, it zooms out. God forbid I continue touching the scroll wheel otherwise it'll keep zooming wider and wider until I can see the whole universe and beyond.

    Hello,

Hi Avechelice, I have tried FSRecorder
FSrecorder .. is very simple to use .. and in case of difficulty .. a very good PDF with all explanations about the usage of FSrecorder is furnished with FSrecorder
In case of a specific problem .. it's the possibility to ask in the FSrecorder forums
I'm very happy with FSrecorder ... I like the simple things .. and it's certainly easy to use the basic options

    Regards.
