Thread: 747 Nose Wheel Problem

  1. Default 747 Nose Wheel Problem

    Hi,

    As you can see from my attached picture, the nose gear of my 400 is locked to the left. Never happened before.

    I am using the POSKY 744V4_Singapore model.

    May be it knows SIA have decomissioned the 747s and has cleverly taken itself out of service?!!!

    Can anyone help assist me with sorting out the problem?

    Thanks

    They only decommissioned the pax aircraft, they still fly the type

    Looks like there is a main gear prob too, I only see one pair of wheels not a bogey??

    Also the contact points seem screwed and the suspension

    It's as if something is causing it to ignore at least the contact points of the CFG

    Have you added or changed anything since youi last had this model working correctly??

    Hi,
    It happened to me before, Try to get the engine running and start the push back you will see it will adjust itself.
    I don't know what is the cause behind that, but this is what I do for the aircraft. I think it something to do with the joystick.

    You should have a subfolder of the panel folder named "Posky744" and it should contain on the order of 18 XML gauges. These gauges control the landing gear animations so they need to be present, and they also need to be declared in the panel.cfg something like this:

    [VCockpit03]
    size_mm=512,512
    pixel_size=512,512
    texture=$Posky_ACU
    background_color=0,0,0
    gauge00=Posky744!PkyCALC, 140,80,140,80
    gauge01=Posky744!PkyNosegearheight, 140,80,140,80
    gauge02=Posky744!PkyBodygearheight, 140,80,140,80
    gauge03=Posky744!PkyWinggearheight, 140,80,140,80
    gauge04=Posky744!PkyLeftgearboggie, 140,80,140,80
    gauge05=Posky744!PkyRightgearboggie, 140,80,140,80
    gauge06=Posky744!PkyLeftwgearboggie, 140,80,140,80
    gauge07=Posky744!PkyRightwgearboggie, 140,80,140,80
    gauge08=Posky744!PkyNosegearsteerling, 140,80,140,80
    gauge09=Posky744!PkyWINGROOTFLEX, 140,80,140,80
    gauge10=Posky744!PkyRWINGMIDFLEX, 140,80,140,80
    gauge11=Posky744!PkyRWINGTIPFLEX, 140,80,140,80
    gauge12=Posky744!PkyLWINGMIDFLEX, 140,80,140,80
    gauge13=Posky744!PkyLWINGTIPFLEX, 140,80,140,80
    gauge14=Posky744!PkyRudder, 140,80,140,80
    gauge15=Posky744!Pky_PB_Towhead, 140,80,140,80

    If you don't have all of the above I would try downloading another 747 that hopefully has an intact and working panel. Then you could just replace the panel folder in the Singapore Airlines variation with the one from the download. It's been a long time and I was using it in FSX, but if I remember correctly klm_744v4_combi.zip had a properly working panel folder.

    I think there was a file to redress this problem,it was "Opensky_747_FDE_Suite_V9.7_Rev_D_Supp".

    Jim has hit the nail on the head. Do you have a custom panel installed????

    I've also had this problem with POSKY's 747...I had to get rid of it.

    Hello,

    Jim Robinson posted the solution for the case you use a third party panel with the Posky B747
    BTW .. this solution it's also (often) explained in the readme of the Posky B747
    All my Posky B747 use third party panel and I have no probs with nose wheels .. as I use the (Posky) Robinson trick

    Regards.

    If you gave a couple of monkeys a box of ballpoints, enough paper, and enough time, they'd eventually finish up writing the complete works of Shakespeare

    I pasted the Vcockpit lines into the panel folder and reloaded the plane.

    It is now fixed. Great work!

    Thanks for your and everyone elses help.
