Hello!
So after a long time away from FS, I decided to re-install FSX for my computer, since I un-installed it earlier because it was taking up space and wasn't getting any use. I've since then gotten into it fairly deeply, logging hours of ATC session time every day. (hey, it's summer!)
I suddenly remembered today that I've got this old set of CH products (yoke and rudder pedals) somewhere in one of my closets. I dug them out, wiped the dust off, and remembered the times that I used to use these with FU3 and FS2000 and the like. Remember when the CH yoke was white? Yeah i've got one of those
So then I looked at the plug, and it looked ordinary enough, but the back of my computer (Windows 7) doesn't have a port that matches it. The plug says "Gameport" on it, and I looked on the back of my old white PC that I ran the above said titles on (Windows 98), and it had the port with a little joystick icon. I thought, well that's nifty! But everything's USB now, so this stuff must be obsolete! I really wanted to use this stuff again, as I've been using a joystick lately but wanted something more interactive. And it had sentimental value.
I hit up google and found these things that looked like you could plug the Gameport plug into one end and at the other end is a USB plug so you can hook that up into your computer. I pulled one up on Amazon and found that the reviews for it weren't promising, with people saying that it doesn't work and stuff like that.
I was just wondering if any of you people have fiddled with this type of thing and would give me some tips about this type of thing, if I should pick one up, or is there an alternative, or something like that?
Thanks so much!
