Thread: How many posts before you're not a jr member anymore?

  1. Default How many posts before you're not a jr member anymore?

    How many?

  2. Default

    Is it really that important

I so wish that post counters did not exist.

  3. Default

No it's not that important. I have far better things to be concerned about besides what my status is on this site but I was just curious because it's a feature of the website. I'm not too lazy to type so I just asked the question. Why did you even respond if you weren't going to answer the question?

Pretty sure 500 is the next jump. We had this discussion not that long ago. And don't let other posters get on your nerves!
    Thanks,

    Jim

Ignore them! Jr. Member =up to 99 posts Member=100+ posts and so on!

    Junior Member: 0 posts
    Member: 100 posts
    Senior Member: 1000 posts
    VIP Member: 2500 posts
    Top Gun: 5000 posts

I think the other guys, in a NOT too subtle way, are trying to suggest using the forum search before asking your questions. You're half way to no longer a Jr. member!

"I think the other guys, in a NOT too subtle way, are trying to suggest using the forum search before asking your questions."

Yes, and I too have had some "Run Ins" with some snotty forum members, regarding this issue.
What those crabby people don't think deeply enough about is that......
#1) The search functions here at the forums are not so good that a searcher can narrow many of the subjects down to a manageable level.
For example, what would a person search on to answer this forum's topic? If one searched on "junior member" how many forum threads would come up? Every forum with the word "member" (several hundred probably). Also, how about the word "junior"?
We need a search function which would limit the results to "junior member" and not "member" by itself, for example.
    and last but not least,
#2) Don't treat me like you are my severe, harsh father and I am your minor-aged child. (I actually had a great father who was not harsh.) Nor treat me like you are a dictator and I am only a peon member of your dictatorship society. If anyone doesn't want to help the person starting a thread, then be neutral and skip writing anything.
JSkorna and mrzippy, both of you have the right frame of mind. You are kind and helpful. (Thank you)
And I (and others) appreciate it very much!

I'm guessing you all are referring to me. All I did was ask an honest question, and then I expressed my personal feeling regarding post counters in general. I can't help it if you all insist on reading more into that than was there to begin with. I'm sorry if my response was more than you could take.

    N2056, understood. You're fine. Really.
However, the following is why I am responding.
(And this is definitely not for you, N2056 but for everyone, especially the two guys who were snotty in one of my posts about a month-and-a-half ago. I have wanted to respond ever since then, because I am very angry with them for attempting to act like a dictator. I am not subservient to them and will not calmly ignore them.)
Their responses are NOT more than we can take.
Their responses are more than we choose to take.
Someone acts bossy, many of us choose to get angry and say, "back off".
Again, N2056, thank you for your post.
My anger is definitely not for you, but for two other guys, as explained above.

Ahh...Thanks for clarifying that. Without a reference to an "outside" issue all I could figure was that you were replying to things posted here, and having said something that was construed as negative I sort of felt obligated to say something.

As to what you are talking about...I can come up with some good guesses as to the parties in question.

I still stand by my apology to any that felt I was somehow harsh. That was not the intent of my reply.

To the OP,the post count here doesn't mean a thing,I've just been hanging around here for years and thats all. The little "tags" change at 500,1000,I believe at 2500, then it tops out with 5000.Don't read too much into the tags, they don't do anything other than show you've got nothing better to do than hang out on the webs!
