REX Essential connected to a server?

tried asking this on rex forum but no one replied but i have asked it in a different way. But is REX Essential when you run it connected to an on line server or connected to rex web site or is it just like any other addon and its on its own?. Thanks.

You only connect to a server when you use the weather engine, of course to download the weather data.

If you don't need 'real weather' you are just using REX to provide the textures of your choice, which are loaded on your computer when you install REX.

To add. And you manually install the textures of your choice through the texture confiquration menu or chose random.

I can't seem to get the rex weather avoidance map to work. It seems to load the weather into fsx, but cant see the map. So at least your further than me:-(
