Problem with XElectra.zip

I just downloaded and installed XElectra.zip into FSX Deluxe SP2 running on Vista because the read me clearly states-
" Lockheed L-10A Electra,
Northwest registration NC14935, 1934 livery.
This is the beautiful FS9 L-10 Electra by Arik Hohmeyer with the panel modified to include FSX compatible XML gauges. Aircraft now works in FSX with full functions and no error messages."

Aircraft now works in FSX with full functions and no error warnings.Why does the VC look like this?



Has anyone else had this problem?I'm trying to replace the FS2004 version for this reason.

That is a common problem with FS9 planes in FSX. Sometimes you are able to work around it, other times it's a lost cause.

Fortunately, we formed a little team and created, IMO, one of the best port-overs available.

Basically you assign a bitmap to the VC like a 2D window/panel. The biggie is making the bitmap so all of the panel lines join with what does show and matching color. From your screenie it looks like 3 bitmaps will be necessary. You can determine which is which by comparing the [VcockpitXX] descriptions to the gauges that are visible. Not easy, but doable for some.

If the lights affect what you are seeing now, it may be worse with a fix in place.
Try plain color bitmaps sized to match the size_mm=512,512 and pixel_size=512,512 noted in the panel.cfg.
The bitmaps go in the panel folder, not texture folders. Good Luck...Don

Thanx Don.First I'll try changing the background color to 253,253,253 as 2,2,2 resulted in black.Then I'll knuckle down and work on new bitmaps.Thank you especially for the tip on placing the bitmaps in the Panel folder.More pleasant hours on the couch,out of the Connecticut heat and humidity.
