Thread: Doubt regarding runway

  1. Default Doubt regarding runway

    Hello everybody,
In runway number 22R, the number 22 indicates the course i.e. 220.Is it exactly 220 or a number between 220 and 229??Please clarify.

Runway 22 would indicate a heading between 216 and 225.. Runway heading are rarely 'right on the money' at 220 degrees..

And a chart will always tell you the exact heading of the runways.
    Thanks,

Or a View -> Map, then find and click on the airport. It will show you the exact runway headings.

And they don't always follow the guideline literally. For example the four runways at LAX are exactly parallel, yet one pair has a different number to the other pair.
