    Default Removing trees

I have downloaded an upgrade for a default airport in FSX. It's a glider field and no way can I tow out of there without clipping trees at the end of the runway. Upon landing there isn't enough room to land after clearing the trees on the approach end of the field. Is there a way to remove some of the trees? John

Get Airport Design Editor, a free download, and use it to exclude any tree you desire anywhere you encounter this problem. This is a sophisticated airport design program, and the manual must be read before it's use. Also, you must have the deluxe version of FSX and install the SDK.

Do you have FSX Standard, FSX Deluxe or FSX Gold?

Before we can do the next steps I have to know this.

    Hi

I would use Instant Scenery from Flight1 (You don't have to go through the hassle of installing the SDK) it has a tool that will erase the default and possibly the add on scenery. Check around before you buy it though, it might not work in your case.

P.S. You could also use a virtual chainsaw to cut down those trees.

I already shopped around for a virtual chain saw, I found one but didn't have enough virtual money to purchase the item.

The trees still stand and I am getting better at dropping into the field. I guess I didn't mention that I fly sailplanes and I am now using a winch to get into the air but that doesn't get me much altitude. Not all my sailplanes have spoilers so I have to side slip to get back into the field. THOSE TREES STILL HAVE TO GO, SOMEHOW. John

If this is for FSX then it is quite simple with ADEX to place an exclusion poly that should remove the trees.

Okay, then you also should have the SDK, and you are able to work with ADEX.
Just click on the left link of scruffyduck, and you can download it. I think somewhere should be some tutorials.

Thanks for the help. I'll give it a try but I'm a slow learner. Just hope I have enough time left to learn this program, I'm 76. John
