The update is full of good stuff, with changes to the weather options...I've just been flying in a new "Mixed Weather" option and the clouds, gusts, precipitation etc have all been improved. Just flew into some strong 68knots of beam wind and the turbulence has made me feel quite queasy.

Maybe it is just the curry I just had for dinner!!

Well I would not be surprised if Alaska come with a Beaver with cockpit...But to me the scenery is the most important thing and I will be quite happy to explore the new Alaska with my Icon...I will buy Alaska even if it comes without an aeroplane

No, they've announced the plane it will come with, and it's yet another cockpitless one.

There goes all those in the Alaska poll that would only purchase if the plane came with a cockpit. I see a trend starting to form here!
    Thanks,

    Jim

Hey that 68 knots of wind dropped to 13 knots for part of my sea crossing in the Icon, but as I reached the big island it rose again to 68 knots...The problem then became how to get it down! The approach was very strange and I left the gear till very late as I had to approach at high speed to make any penetration. Over the runway and almost stationary with gear down and a lot of power, I lowered it gradually to the tarmac pointing straight into wind and touched down absolutely standing still...The problem then became how to taxy in...Well that was impossible so I only continued slowly straight ahead till I was clear off the side of the runway and then applied the handbrake...Wondering what would happen, I then shut down the engine and nipped outside to spot view...The engine shut down but the propeller continued to spin in the wind but miraculously the parking brake held fast!

Well, it was quite an adventure and I really enjoyed it but sadly there were no awards for this difficult feat
