    Hello everybody,
I am flying a plane in autopilot mode.Suppose i get an instruction to turn right by 090.Where should I input 090(in COURSE field or HEADING field)?? Also tell me how to differentiate when to enter a reading in COURSE field and when to enter it in HEADING field.

I always input via heading and only use course for AP approach. Whether that's correct for real world I've no idea.

    For ATC instructions, use Heading.

Course is used in conjunction with navigating using VOR or and landing using ILS. Your plane won't be turning if you switch the course knob anyway unless you are heading to a radio navigation beacon.
