Thread: Apparent GEX/UTX problems

    Default Apparent GEX/UTX problems

My system: i5 2500, 3.3 ghz (Sandy Bridge), 8gb RAM, Nvidea GTX 560, FSX with Accelerator.

I installed GEX USA and UTX yesterday, and while I haven't run the game much since the install, I've found several problems that must be GEX related.

When on final approach to the runway , I get yellow to red lights while still at ~700 ft.

An airport that I fly into frequently now has the eastern end of the runway sitting at the edge of 'a cliff witha large waterfall running down the cliff face.

Are these problems normal or is my install of GEX somehow bad?

Also, during the GEX install, there was a long list of items with empty check boxes. Somehow that window disappeared before I could read it, and I can't get it back.

Thanks in advance for any help any of you can provide.

GEX are just ground textures. I doubt that they cause the problems you're seeing.

I don't know what else to blame it on. Everything was fine until I did the install. However, when I get a chabce tomorrow I'll uninstall the GEX/UTX addons and see what happens.

How about that window with the unchecked boxes? When I do the re-install, should these boxes be checked? It didn't give me time to look at them yesterday.

I don't recall what the check boxes are for so I can't help you now.
But when you reinstall, can you install one first then check? Maybe it's UTX that's causing the problem.

When installing UTX and GEX I found that it's best to first install UTX. The other way around I faced several problems. Don't ask me why, but that's what I experienced.

Installing UTX first was recommended to me, but I clicked on the wrong folder and when the GEX install came up I just let it run, lol. My bad, maybe.
