Thread: Empire Class C Flight Deck Control Wheel and Column potentiometers?

Default Empire Class C Flight Deck Control Wheel and Column potentiometers?

Can anyone give me details of above I need to fit onto column and linkage from Port to stbd to give me x and y axis movement via USB?
I have taken a joystick apart and find that apart from the linear variable resistors being too small for my use they seem to be 1820k type, please tell me what I need and where I can get them from. I have a tower PC.

Above flight deck controls are in my small room, and I'm sure enjoying the cycle hubs and chainwheel linkages.

Hard to say without knowing the details about your hardware.

You can use the circuitboard from your joystick to read the pots.
Any 10k to 100k pot will do.

Thanks jeroen, I take it then that if I aquire two slide potentiometers and wire them to the circuit boards as the replacements for the joystick type they should perform the same?

I do know how to connect them to my build so that I get the relevant actions.

Thanks once again for your prompt help.

    Hi Greenrock,

I'd be very interested to see how you're building the hardware!

Personally I'd use a Leo Bodnar 12-bit joystick controller and 10kOhm potentiometers. Hall sensors are better, but harder to set up.
