Default Review of Ultimate Terrain X

Hi all. I have installed ultimate terrain x for Canada and the US and I have to say it is a total game changer for me. I was not a big fan of UT for fs9 as it slowed down my performance and the roads looked kind of symplistic and unrealistic. But for fsx UT is WOW..........
Incredible. First of all the scenery looks so much more realistic and it loads so much faster with less blurries. that's the exact opposite of how it was in fs9 but I'm not complaining. I can follow the roads all over the place and I know where I'm going. The beach areas look amazing and the mountains and falleys a nd streams look so much more realistic. Now I want to get it for Europe as well. It even comes with new textures wich add to the realism. Minor problem is my home airport of Downsview airport in Toronto has trees on the tarmack which it never had. Iv any one knows how to fix that I'd like to know how. now I'm thinking of getting GEX. If anyone out there is sitting on hte fence wondering if UT is a worthwhile add on, it's a slam dunk.....
Well back to flying.... Bye for now.

I agree that UTX gives a whole new perspective on the fightsim experience. If you want to really go crazy, add GEX also!

How would I take screen shots. I've read the tutorials but how do I actually capture and store the screen shots ??????

In my mind UTX is absolutely essential to the FSX experience (except with photo-real scenery) due to the shorelines, roads and waterclass. GEX also has a lot to offer. With that said, there will be instances where the landclass around an airport will be less real with UTX and GEX than with the default scenery. UTX adds urban landclass where left out of the default scenery, mostly to the good, but sometimes where it doesn't actually exist around an airport. GEX includes some autogen commercial buildings (including some high-rises) in suburb landclass. This is good, except sometimes this adds a high-rise building at the end of a runway which is hard to negotiate on landing. Fortunately with tools like ADE, anyone can make the changes necessary around airports they frequent.

Although there are many screenshot-taking programs/addons, the most easiest method is,when you're flying, press control+print screen
then open an editor like MS Paint and then paste(control+v). Then just save it

A free tool to create or update airports in FSX. You can add an exclusion zone where no autogen will appear on your airfield anymore.
Does take some studying to use though. But once you get the hang of it, it's a great program with many, many possibilities.
