Thread: Using Saitek Rudder Pedals with FSX

  1. Default Using Saitek Rudder Pedals with FSX

    Hello all,

I got the Saitek Rudder pedals. And I'm having a hard time taxiing aircraft. Like I'll do the Ground Operations tutorial and the plane won't move when I apply a little throttle. I make sure I turn the brakes off. I have to move the throttle all the way up and then the plane starts moving but too fast. The same happens when I try to taxi in free flight....

These things suck so bad I would be willing not to even use them. I keep reading that it really aides in the realism of the flight sim but I can't figure them out. I mean I know how to move the plane but like I said the plane will either not move or move too fast.... I'll never be able to fly the commercial jets if I can't figure this rudder thing out.

Make sure you calibrate all the controls. Also make sue in your control settings that throttle is set to max sensitivity and NO NULL ZONE.
Do you also have set in your setting Auto Rudder? You might uncheck that. Try not to get frustrated. It will take time and practice to adjust. Also to help with your landings uncheck unlimited fuel. Landing a plane, especially the jets is really difficult with full tanks. Hope this helps even a little!

Are the brakes backwards? Where you you press on the and the brakes are off or you release your feet and the are on? Think I had that issue with mine way back when. Try reversing the axis if so. There may be a small indicator on the lower left hand side of the screen in FSX telling you the brakes are on.

I think so. I keep seeing a little "brake" in the lower left corner even when my feet aren't on the pedals. So I just click on Reverse in the brake axis setting right?

I will try that setting with the Throttle and Null Zone when I get home from work. Thanks!
