How do I get the moon to display in FS9? Seen one full moon one time in eight years and a couple of daytime shots, is there a setting I'm missing?

Not sure, but I think the moon phase cycles with the computer date and time mimicing reality. Try finding out when the last full moon was/ next will be for the area you want and set your aircraft there.

Actually the moon has the same phase in every place in the earth.
