    Does the plane actually end up in your Airplanes folder?

    Make sure to look at all planes. Sometimes a Boeing plane does not end up under Boeing for example.

    Have Show Variations checked On in FSX.

    Always give us the exact file name of the download so that we can try and duplicate the situation.
    Thanks,

    Jim

    Finally, I tried something, and one of the two I dowloaded seems to work. It is in my in game airplane selction.

    Maybe because you extracted them, you put in (Example) in there but it had the actual model plane in there.

    When the download is finished, I extract the files in:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes

    Is it wrong? Where is the problem?
    ================
    I have found that in many cases one cannot determine if the file ended up where it was supposed to because you DO NOT KNOW the folder name of the aircraft.

    Solution for FSX: I make a folder on my C:\ drive named UNZIPPED and unzip all downloaded files there. Now I know the hierarchy of the file structure in the .zip file, the name of the aircraft folder and if all files (model, panel, sound, texture(s), .cfg files, effects, gauges, etc.) are present. I can also open the aircraft.cfg file and find the manufacturer name where the aircraft will show up in the FSX menu. I then MANUALLY move all folders/files to the appropriate folders under the FSX hierarchy. I have very little trouble this way.

    I also use this method if there is an installer as you do not know the aircraft folder name the installer will be using. If you have a lot of aircraft in your Airplanes folder, it can drive you nuts trying to find the new one.

    It's really easy if you sort the Aircraft folder by date because then it's either the top folder or the bottom folder.
    Thanks,
