Thread: Ocean City Air Show - Pilots Wanted

  1. Default Ocean City Air Show - Pilots Wanted

I was hoping to get a group together to perform an air show in Ocean City, MD. My plan is to operate out of Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport (KSBY) with show center over the Atlantic at about 14th Street in Ocean City. I'll host a server on the default FSX multiplayer and serve as the show center boat. Any acrobatic pilots are welcomed, both solo performers and teams. If this show is successful I may branch out operations to other locations. Please contact me at ocairshowvirtual@gmail.com or via this thread with any questions.

    Cool

This sounds good .... I'll "Stick" it up top for a while ... get better visibility longer.

Folks (All) might want to trade email addys in a Private Message .... tab up in the menu bar on this page.

No harm ... no foul ... just an suggestion to keep them from being made public. ... it's up to you.

Good Luck ... ask if think we can help out with connections or whatever and you're welcome to use our FSHost server.

    Cheers,

Another suggestion to help draw folks out would be to facilitate spectators ....

Set aside a block of parking or even a taxiway, parallel to the active for the day, and at the halfway point rather than at one end or the other.

They can line up in Skyhawks or some other low poly aircraft ..... even join as observers to keep down the frame rates.

If enough "show" up ... maybe some interest will be spawned for them to participate in future events.

I can't say enough about Ryan Sundheimer (Tomcatboy48237) and the crowd at :http://www.airshowstuff.com/

He and his "Gang" had us over as guests to what was an icon for online airshows in MSFS multiplayer.

    http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth...-FlyFS-Nov-7-8

The spectators had to download and use a character he created as an aircraft ... it was actually a "Dude" sitting in a beach chair beside a cooler full of "beverages" .... awesome .... that's also what the participating pilots used until their act was up ... he had concocted several different ones so we all didn't look the same ... genius ... and low on frame rates.

A screenshot would show a crowd of folks sitting in those chairs on the tarmac watching and waiting for the next plane to fly by .... lots of fun!

He managed 2 dozen connections, background music, Master of Ceremonies duties to assemble a dozen or so really talented pilots and their individual acts to put on an event that was just like the real deal ... well as close as MSFS will allow.

Superb planning and delivery .... by now I'd guess that crowd to be the best online.

Friendly and helpful ... I suggest attending an event and then asking Ryan for help setting one up.

The invitation is still on for you to use our server(s) .... can be password protected if you give advance notice.

I've been following this thread closely while I work on refining a 4 to 8 minute routine in my Su-26. I would like to participate in some way.
