Two Radio Questions

Hello all,

I am having trouble getting my radios to work the way I want. First of all I am flying the Flying Club X Tomahawk I was sitting at 77S (hobby) in Oregon, and I wanted to check ATIS. The closest ATIS station is at Mahlon Sweet and in FS its frequency is 125.2. I tuned my radio to this but I hear nothing (yes I switched from active and standby). If I go to Mahlon and change to this frequency I get the ATIS loud and clear. This is how the real pilots at 77S would check the weather, surely it isn't too far away?

Also, When I am approaching the runway in the Tomahawk I get very loud Beeps, lower pitched ones about 500 meters out, and then really loud ones over the threshold. What is this, and A how can I make it stop, or B how can I make them quieter.

I think those loud beeps are the OMI markers. In most cases you turn them off pressin MKR on your radio.
