Depending on how you look at things, one of the benefits of no accu-sim is that you can slam the throttles to the stops with no bad effects. There are no bad effects to bad piloting. But, if you just want to jump in and go, that's a good thing. If you do get Accu-sim, you can always turn it off and on at will.

No more info from A2A yet.

So far from the post I am seeing everyone who enjoys this plan has the accu-sim installed.
Glenn there are bad effect without it. The only way I can get it in the air for even a few minutes is to all of the runway at andrews and hold the trottles maxed. This gets it in the air but about since I have to hold the throttles maxed to keep it in the air, at stall speed but in the air, the engines catch on fire about about 3 mins.

I believe this will the last plane I purchase from A2A. Will prolly delete it shortly

Sounds as though you're not right for it.

Firstly there are a number of configuration errors in your setup, as evidenced by the images over in the A2A forums and the advice you have been given over there. Your replies over there also lend credence that you have not read the manual, or if you have, you are not flying it right.

Therefore I think we would tend to agree with you that you should probably delete it.

well if there are config errors they were put in by A2A not me. The cfg file I posted was the way it installed. The latest advice was to remove and reinstall it. That is my next step. And yes I read the manual, actually printed it off and went throught it and the check list step by step a number of times. I fly nothing but old prop plans, I have lot of experiance working engines , mixtures etc thats why I love them. I am open to constructive ideas but "read the manual" and "you have not read the manual" are not constructive.

Make sure you have cowl flaps at about 33%, and that the intercooler flaps are set to about the same. The reason for this, is because they add extra drag, ensure you set at least 25 degrees flaps, water injection on, and 54" on the manifold pressure. Also prop set full forward.

PS....Looking at your screenshots...your nose heavy because you have a full tanks, try and reduce the fuel in the center tank to about 25-50%

    cbear,

This sounds like your turbochargers are not working, You can tell this if you are not getting over 30" manifold pressure.
If you can, shoot an email to us directly at support[at]a2asimulations.com, and ask to be forwarded to Scott and we'll take care of you. You can have your crew handle almost everything, which allows you to simply sit back and fly.

    Scott.

hi scott. E-mail was sent yesterday. I am getting conflicting answers. Some people tell me that you do not need the accu-sim pack to have a crew help and others say you do. I do not have the accu-sim expansion can I still get a crew to help?

    Bruce:

This aircraft surely has some learning curve, but it will be worth your time eventually since you say that you are interested in old propliners. Don't be in a hurry to get into the air. I know you posted by saying "I just purchased this aircraft". Maybe you need to allow yourself some more time to familiarize with the aircraft. I had to. Fly something else for a change.

I do not have the aircraft installed at this time, but I remember I was flying it for quite some time with just the base model that you have now. Accu-Sim, though desirable, is not a must.

I looked at my notes and put down the key items below including much of what has been already mentioned by the posts here. Correlate and supplement these items with the manual as needed.

    1. Payload (Light)
    2. Fuel (Light)
    3. Cowl Flaps
    4. Intercooler Flaps
    5. Wing Flaps
    6. Mixture
    7. Manifold Pressure
    8. Turbo Boost
    9. Turbo Override
    10. Propellor Control
    11. RAM/SHELTER Air
    12. Control Surface Lock
    13. ADI Valve/Pump (Water Injection)
    14. Rudder Boost
    15. Autopilot Clutch Switch

Of course, stay in touch w/ the A2A folks.

after a reinstall it works fine. I can take off regardless of settings exept for flaps and ADI. It will lift off Andrews AFB with cowl flaps full, air set to sheltered. Seems it was a bad install. I should have tried this first instead of listening to those who told me I simply could not read.

    Thanks for the help folks
