Thread: Blurries, long texture loading times on high-end system

Yes , I have seen that article before , my pc goes into the 70 + mark if I leave fps unlimited, so I set it at 27 , the fiber frame time fraction I messed with last night oddly enough , I tried increasing the CPU time , it made a small difference but still got blurries , but it still doesn't explain why it was great a month back & now its not , I'm not sure if Alvarez has the exact same isue as in it suddenly went pants for no explanation or whether he has had the isue from the on set.

Followed NickN's guide about W7, problem persists..

Also i have following scenery settings:

    LOD: Large
    M. Complexity: 75
    Mesh Resolution: 5m
    T. Resolution: 30cm
    Water Effects: High 2X

    Scenery and Autogen Density: Dense
    Special Effects: High

I'm also giving my system specs, because i know and see people over youtube who has lower systems and run fsx with better settings:

    - i7 960 8 cores (HT disabled) @ 4.2 Ghz cooling with Noctua DH-14 Vcore is something 1.39500V less than this system wont boot, QPI is 1.415V (again less value on this BSOD during prime95)

-MSi GTX 570 Twin Frozr III

    -Gigabyte X58 UD5 MoBo

-12 GB Patriot DDR3 Memory (they should be something with 133 Mhz, got also Corsair Vengeance but cant run them at their stock speed)
    XMP disabled for RAMs

-Got 1.5 TB 7200RPM HDD, divided to 3 sub drives, also Corsair GT 120 GB SSD which OS installed.

    -750W PSU powering these components

Change mesh resolution 19m.There is very little 5m mesh scenery out there.
Change water effects to 2 low or 1 high.
If you have very high cloud settings, try dialing them down a bit.

    Hi,

I have different system as it is AMD 8120 with MSI high end motherboard, 8GB RAM and Sapphire HD5770. Not OC on CPU and only slightly OC Graphic via AMD software. I play on 48' TV with HD 1920x1080.
I use GEX, UTX, REX with several sceneries. Bojote's tweak.

I was running my FSX on, let say 75-90% (depend on the sceneries), traffic cars around 3-5%, boats etc. around 5-8 % depending on scenery. Had Water set to max 2x but I was using very good, very low-KB-size of the texture, available for free from the AVSIM library as this is perfect looking texture.

After maybe a 0,5 year I added some texture like VFR for Slovakia and I think FTX and I have notice that I get very blurry texture. The longer flight takes the more blurry texture I get.
I've read thousand of tutorials, solution and believe me. Non of them seems to help me out. Textures are very sharp looking good at the beginning of the flight and then start becoming blurry...and I swear I had perfectly working FSX till I put there too much textures. Starting messing with various sceneries etc. Nothing helped.

Finally I end up with re-installation of my FSX. I just simply put the CD back to CD-rom and re-paired it and I can see very big improvement. Then I upload REX and UTX once again + Night Environment Zeintek(?) from 2007 as it is very good looking (for me even The best) add-on and not as heavy like Night Environment X which basically killed my CPU. Now is not as bad as it was...but did not have enough of time to unchecked the sceneries I don't use during the flight. I did not touch FSX.cfg ater the re-install but I believe it is still the same one of Boyote's there as the textures are loading quite long and with re-build FSX.cfg they load very fast.

Now textures are very sharp, sometimes, however, they are blurry in some certain moments but it depends on how complicated the terrain is but if I pause it for a few sec then they become sharp. Well if my tweaks later on today won't help then I will install FSX from the beginning as I have lost a lots of time looking for solution and surely would install FSX already 5 times .
My FSX is over 200 GB now.

Anyway in my case re-installation helped a lots in this case. Today next thing I will do is unchecked all unused sceneries from ADD ON SCENERIES as even the last time(before re-installing) I've notice that it help a bit and FSX Textures were looking better.

So personally I can tell you that instead of looking for many solution online and wasting the time just install or re-install your FSX. I know it will take a long time but at the same time you will save it on looking between milions of solution and although they are filled with many smart thoughts and good trick I would say in 90% they were totally not helpful at all. Only thanks to them I understood I bit more principles of how FSX works etc...

At the end what is very important in terms of simulator and hardware/software. If u can, do not use you computer for anything else apart from flying. I had that in the past. Were installing other games, programs etc.. All these things pull the performance down from some reason, I can clearly see that.
I do not use any SP1 or any updates for Win. Just play on Win 7 Ultimate edition as it came first with all security and other unnecessary components switched off. You can find it online how to optimize it.
This computer is only for FSX, Pro Evo and Photoshop. Don't even use it for internet...

P.s. what was worth to add. When I fly in the regions that are default FSX like South America, Asia (no GEX or UTX just default FSX) I DO NOT GET ANY BLURRY textures what so ever ?!
So it is definitely sth to do with CPU or Graphic Processor or if not ...so I dont know what is this... and it looks like, you know, when you open like a big picture on FBook online or just on your PC, sometime it is blurry for a sec and then it gets sharper. It looks exactly the same in the game. It is blurry and then get sharp.
I know it is freaky as it did not happen before with mine FSX and now it does...or maybe be just simply the textures are still to heavy
    Good luck.

So I kept testing my flight and I tempt to switch off unused sceneries + de-installed OTX as I had this one and can see very big improvement now. I got again good textures etc. Need more test though.

    I have resolved my problem!!!

Maybe it is strange but I used this: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

Now textures remains sharp and what more I use really high setting for my FSX.
(tested on 90% all setting knobs without virtual traffic - all was on 0%)

The more strange that like I mentioned I use already optimized ver of Win 7 64x without any rubbish on it.

Anyway first 2 flight was successful.

Kept testing using game booster from the link below. SUCCESS!!!
My textures now are sharp again.
