I've been using AI for some time, and feel quite familiar with the various aspects of it; but there are still some quirks which may have a simple solution - anyone?
For example, I loaded up at Vancouver (CYVR) just before the appropriate time to watch the 747 arrive from London; as soon as it appeared on the Tactical Display I followed it in the chase plane. It turned nicely onto final approach, lowered its undercarriage; trouble was, it was still at about 12000' !! So it simply flew over the airport, raised its U/C, drifted on down to 2000' and headed off into the sunset. I hadn't the patience to see if it arrived much later, having circumnavigated the globe.... Last seen heading out into the Pacific.
Some aircraft, designed for AI, seem to work perfectly; while others (especially, I believe, the Premaircraft series) seem unable to raise the U/C after take-off and fly with it lowered the whole time. This seems to be the exact opposite of the no-undercarriage quirk which beset us with many of the 3rd party and FS2000 models. I have to say that Anniette's repaints have been some of the very best, but they seem to have stopped coming.
Where are you, Anniette, when we need you most?
Brian
