    Default FSX PBY5a [Mike Stone's]

    Floats slaved to Tailhook function - not working...

    Hi:

    You are correct. The Tailhook function does not seem to work for the ported FSX version even when a key is assigned.

    Have you considered the Aerosoft PBY Catalina? Just a suggestion. That's a fantastic add-on for this classic aircraft...if you are a fan of it. The Mike Stone version is very dated, anyway, w/ no realistic panel.

    Try adding this to aircraft.cfg:

    [hydraulic_system]
    normal_pressure=500

    "simmerdr" a good panel can be found at pby5kmpn.zip - quite realistic.

    Great! It fixes this problem too, which is when I discovered it!

    Mark:

    Thanks. Good to know.

    BTW, as I was fixing the

    [hydraulic_system]
    normal_pressure=500

    I noticed in the aircraft.cfg of this PBY

    [Tailhook]
    tailhook_length=1
    tailhook_position=0.0, 0.0, 10.0
    cable_force_adjust_1.0

    The last entry should be probably cable_force_adjust=1.0

    It does not matter for the wing float operation, though.

    @Vern:

    Yes, that's a pretty good panel. All of Ken Mitchell's panels are actually excellent. However, that is a FS2004 panel created during pre-FSX days back in 2005 (usable in FSX). The realism of panels (and VC) has increased so much during all these years.......you can have fun anyway...
