Ah the challenge of it all

For those who like a challenge, W S W off the coast of Niihau is a small island called Kaula Island. I found it yesterday when I flew around all of the islands on the Fight map. This island is not shown on the Fight map. So today I flew out to it in the RV. Flying around, it looked like it had sonewhat of a flat surface on top so I set up to land with it's 18 kt crosswind. Well I could not get the RV stopped in time and I went over the edge at full power. I managed to have it upright at the water and hit the map button at that moment, (I have it mapped to my yoke), changed to the Icon and was able to salvage the crash. I then took off in the Icon and landed on the island twice with it. Give it a try for fun.

Im one of those that like a challenge so after reading your post I had to go check this island out for myself and I found it exactly where you said it was. After finding it I decided to try to land on it in the RV, found the small flat spot on top that you mentioned, and was actually able to land successfully (did it in clear skies and no crosswind but was still challenging to do flying with a mouse)

I've read many different microsoft flight forums and this is the first that ive heard about this island. I do find it odd that its not shown on the map.

For anyone else wanting to find this island it is located at a heading of 231degrees, not too far off the WSW coast of niihau. I took a screenshot of its location on the map if anyone is interested just let me know
