    Default Graphics issues...

Specs in my sig. For awhile now, towards the end of my flights(and sometimes while still flying), when I refresh the scenery, things go bonkers. Like: Invisible plane.......airport buildings disappearing with only shadows remaining........screen going completely black with maybe a sliver of scenery still visible......and the worst, which happened tonight: After getting the 100% loaded screen, it blinks real fast but won't go back to the sim. Also, after various refreshes tonight, the scenery got worse and worse; meaning the airport itself had nothing but gates, or aircraft with nothing else around, etc. It really looked screwed up.(sorry I didn't capture a screenshot)

Now, the addons I have are the following: UTX, GEX, FSDT McCarren, JustFlight Freemium 757(Which is what I'm usually flying when these things happen), GSX, Sim Savvy (which is on an external drive), and WOAI (Only a few American-based airlines)

Very similar to this video at the :39 second mark: http://youtu.be/65M9aby5G_o

My sliders are all middle to left. Could it be the 757 just uses too much memory for my machine? Or is something else going on here?

Sometimes even if I don't refresh, it happens as well. If I come out of accelerated sim rate, or if I change aircraft, my graphics get hosed.

How much lower do I need to adjust my sliders? I was under the impression my pc could handle middle to sightly left range; maybe not??

I also have a floor fan blowing on the tower to keep it cool. I will say my tower is located in a cubby hole under the computer desk; could it still be a heat issue?

    Thanks for any help..

Mine does the same thing. The only thing i can come up with is overheating of the GPU. Try to re-position the tower so you get better airflow. I've relocated mine and the issue has gotten better, still occurs when there is a heavy load on my GPU, I am going to try to replace my case to increase the airflow, i am thinking of a high performance gaming case with plenty of fans and air circulation. (I have a Dell XPS 8300 system as well and I believe this system in general has an overheating issue due to poor design).

Good, I'm not the only one then. I may take the case off tomorrow and examine the fan(s).Thanks!

Assuming your system meets the spec... the only thing i can see is drivers. Most of the time, with graphics anomalies, it's drivers related. Also, make sure you have both service packs (1 and 2) installed.

Hope you work out your issues...

I have sp1+2 installed. Updating drivers I've yet to do. It's only FSX that has this anamoly. I'm leaning toward the heat issue as we all know how taxing the sim is. Thanks Mith.

You haven't by any chance turned Bufferpools off in your FSX configuration file as this could cause this issue.

    [BufferPools]
    PoolSize=0

    Kind Regards

I'll get back to you on this as I'm away from my pc at the moment. Is this what it should look like? "pool size 0"?

*EDIT* I never added the bufferpools to my cfg file, so I don't think that's it. Thanks though..

    It's in the fsx.cfg file.

I REALLY don't think it's heat related. If it were, your system would probably reboot... I bought payware once and after the installation (a plane) I could only see 30% of the plane. Turned out I neglected to install SP2... Assuming your hardware is adequate... I can't help but believe it's video card drivers related.
