Yes MS Flight is free, I downloaded and played it but it was nothing to write home about so I uninstalled it. You have to pay for extra addon planes and scenery and stuff to make it better, so I might just as well stick with fabulous FSX..

Incidentally here are yesterdays viewing figures showing how many people were looking at each subforum at any one time, FSX is obviously king..

And that, sir, is an extreme exaggeration.

I tried to like Flight, but, after 10 installs, and backing off the settings to the bare minimum, it just didn't like my old computer.

The straw that broke the camel's back was a final BSOD. The last in a series of BSODs and Hangs over the entire time installed.
That one required a hard restart, somehow, messing up windows itself and torquing me off, Big Time.

Thank goodness for regular back ups.

BTW, that "game from 2006" runs better, and looks better, than I ever got out of it's new sister without Hangs or BSODs.

Go for the "Gold" you won't be disappointed.

Uhmm software does not cause BSOD...hate to break it to you but it's either your machine or your drivers that caused the BSOD. Ie, not the software running at user mode, but something that actually runs at root/kernel mode. But thanks for the FUD.

FSX with the Service packs is what I have. Also with a load of freeware military aircraft and a payware F.6 Lightning.

Umm, software can trigger a BSOD by causing a driver or something else to do something it shouldn't. The problem may well be in a driver, but in this case FSX runs fine, and Flight results in a BSOD. Doesn't matter the exact cause if the result is the user can't run the program they want. I didn't see anyone spreading FUD.

And this still doesn't change the fact that with FS2004, FSX and X-Plane, one can fly any aircraft, anywhere in the world any time you want to. Flight is Hawaii only right now, and with a very limited selection of aircraft, and no clear outline of what's to come in the future.
