Thread: Buffalo Airways' Famous Flagship Route

  1. Default Buffalo Airways' Famous Flagship Route

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Here is Buffalo Airways' world famous flagship route from CYZF Yellowknife airport to CYHY Hay River/Merlyn Carter Airport located 2 miles north of Hay River, Northwest Territories, Canada.

    Finished boarded with passengers

Waiting for CYZF airport control tower to issue clearance for engine start and taxi to short of runway 16 (DC-3 does not use pushback)

Engines started and now ready for u-turn to taxi to short of runway 16 via taxiway H

Taxiing to short of runway 16

Holding short of runway 16 awaiting for take off clearance while another propeller plane in background sky annoyed VATCAN controller by taking off without clearance

Cruising at 10,000 ft (you cannot go over 10,000 ft because of lack of oxygen and DC-3 is not all pressurized)

    Cruising getting closer to CYHY

On final approach to CYHY runway 14

    Seconds before touchdown

I think in the very first shot-you have a big sun reflection on the starboard engine, yet it looks like there is a shadow that would not have allwed for the sun to have hit that area-shadow looks like a tail section form some parked aircraft out of view

Nice ones! Working the resources of Canada's Territories will keep old birds flying as long as parts are possible. Even those 732's in shot 1! (wink)

Dennison, That would be incorrect because the shadow of DC-3 was in back or left side of the plane meaning it was correct in consistence with sun reflection on the engine cover. The shadow that you saw in front of the plane or on right side of the plane belonged to the other plane that was parked on right side of the DC-3.
