Thread: Any tips on making flying a Cessna 152 as realistic as possible?

Then of course there are 'sim seats' that add the realistic sensation of movement while flight simming; for example this WW1 rear gunner under instruction is being cranked around for authentic realism.
We could add a similar plank of wood and fulcrum under our chair while we play FSX and pay our little brother to get on the end of it and fling us around for an hour or two-

The 2 most important things to add realizm to FSX...

Place an open jar of Avgas upwind of your chair and....

Have a second large jar available and for every hour you fly, add $120.00 to the jar, you will have paid for your training in an amazingly short time :-)

    You forgot the third jar.

You'll need it when the financial burden of the use of jars one and two leaves you without a pot to p!ss in!

    1. Try the nice free Cessna 152 from Just Flight: (Yes the Carenado cockpit is nicer)

( jconway2002 do you think the stall behaviour is correct? The aircraft doesn't 'fall' over one wing, it just make a small dive.)

    2. Tune FSX with this tuning manual from Kosta:

    3. Use the free realweather program FSrealWX from hanse-coders:

    There you go, have fun!

All kidding aside, I would recommend that you add a few inexpensive toggle switch panels to your set-up.
I find GoFlight to be a high quality product but they are very expensive.

Another supplier of exceptional panels at a more reasonable price
    is Desktop Aviator ( http://www.DesktopAviator.com/index.htm )

They have some very interesting circuit boards that can be easily soldered to 20 (model 2120) or even 30 toggle
switches (model 2235-dp). Then by using the available flight settings in your FS2004, FSX or even X-Plane, you
can create a more realistic environment for your flights. Pre-wired Avionics panels are also available.

Another add-on you should consider is FSUIPC

    Hope this helps
