Default Game Booster has a not good news!

    Hello,

I just upgrade my Game Booster. After installed. I noticed the Game Booster release news notice on the bottom menu box.

It says Game Booster will no longer freeware and will have to payware soon. We are going to loose Game Booster. Where are we are get freeware other program? That's suck!

Oh no the sky is falling!

Close down unnecessary programs and services manually and you'll be just as far ahead as using GB. Most of it is snake oil anyway.
    Thanks,

    Jim

No, having to pay for software does not suck. If someone wants to make something free for us to use then we are very fortunate and should be very grateful. I wonder how many of us actually ever write to freeware authors and thank them for their work.

Anyway, would you like to spend countless hours developing something for us and then make it available for free - oh, and then get all the e-mails and forum posts about how your work sucks?

Still you can use the Advanced SystemCare Free (formerly Advanced WindowsCare Personal). Among it's features SystemCare Free speeds up PC performance and internet access. Tunes up Windows by releasing the built-in power of your system. Dramatically improves both system and Internet performance by up to 400%, which is exactly what Game Booster does.

If you keep your system tuned up and don't have unnecessary programs/services running all the time, you'll see very little, if any, difference using such programs. At any given time my Vista has about 44 services listed in Task Manager, but other than during windows startup or using certain applications there are never more than 2-3 using any resources, that includes 12 items in the system tray; CPU idle time is typically 98% and free memory about 60%, this is what matters when you start FS9. Why go to the trouble of shutting down and restarting services that aren't using resources to start with? (especially when some services occasionally do not restart properly)

What can make a difference is scheduled tasks. I disable all automated updates (including windows), virus scans, etc., preferring to run these manually when they won't interfere with other work. (I dumped McAfee from a previous system when I couldn't get it to stop apparently random scans which, if they occurred during a resource intensive game, would bring that system to its knees.)

I think those programs are unnecesary - they do what you could do without them. The real art is doing it manually. I always defrag my HDD, clean it, delete unused programs, clean it again, and generally do what its needed to keep my Acer Aspire One netbook usefull for FS2004. Its not hard. If you want to tune up, I recommend Ashampoo HDD control. It might look like another "snake oil" , but this one is different. It actually deletes unnecesary files, defragments, and it cleans ALL your internet history. But again, its not necesary to use it.

    Hello,

For manual tunning of Windows OS I suggest to pay a visit to this site

All explained .. what you can do and not do !
All free ... just some brain work needed
    Regards.
