Thread: FSX help!!!

  1. Default FSX help!!!

    Hi there

I am very new to the Flightsim scene and my son wants to download some planes for his FSX. Where can he search for what planes he wants to download?? There does appear to be a section for searching in downloads????

He is after a DeHavilland Comet btw. I have installed other planes for him so I am confident with the file copy process but just wanted some advice on how best to search for particular planes to download.

    Many thanks

    MEXTON28 on behalf of Oliver.

Welcome to the forum, MEXTON28. Hi, Oliver!

In the selection bar above is a "File Library" dropdown list. It will allow searches of the extensive file library here.
Other FS related sites also host file libraries, so if I can't find what I want here, I check those.
A quick search here: FSX: FSX all files, search for text: DeHavilland Comet, resulted in 6 files. A couple might be of interest.

The fast and easy search is Google, but, sorting thru the results can be a pain if the search terms are too common. Be specific.
DeHavilland Comet FSX gives a ton of results, some paint jobs only, some pay, some free...Don

AARGHH Fxsttcb beat me to it, but i might as well post this for good measure..
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best way to start is right here by clicking 'File Library', then click 'Search files'-

Then select the category you want (eg 'FSX'), then type 'comet' and click 'Start search'-

And a list will come up so choose which one you want. This Comet below was in the list and looks a good bet.
(Be careful with all searches to d/load a full aircraft file and not just a liveries/textures-only file, or a different aircraft with the same name)
If Oliver wants some more there's plenty of planes to search for..

My next favourite search method is to simply type what i'm looking for into my browser/google search box like here where i typed 'fsx comet' and quite a few pages came up, this below is part of page 1.
The advantage of this method is that it throws a fishing net over ALL the flight sim sites out there, it includes both payware and freeware planes so be careful-
