Dunno what's worse, these elite "hackers" or the fact that either way there is quite a bit traffic redirection going on via google without the user really knowing what's going on. You could potentially never use anyone of their website... but somehow everyone of us has a service "account".

Short form, and this is right from Paul Allen some years back. 'There is no such thing as computer security '
If you bank, or transact commerce on line, you are compromised or about to be . Period. Even the most sophisticated encryption suffers from the weak link. Human operators, who can and will be bought. The only solution is not to participate in on line commerce.Radical, but bomb-proof. Use several agile DNS hiders. Never keep personal or sensitive information on your web machine. Email services are basicly Tx in the clear.If you need secure communications, use a good one time pad type crypto system like solitare and do not keep the key on your computer. Watch your processes and cpu utilization like a hawk for signs of hidden or unidentified usage. Banking and paying bills on line is the dumbest of all,because even if you don't get hacked, the bank; despite protestations to the contrary, will harvest and sell your data because there is profit to be had, as well as zillions of under-paid drones who can and will be bought. Heck, I even go further. I don't even have a bank account,creditcard, never borrowed money, no credit rating; and I try to stay right off the radar all together, and get by just fine thankyou very much. I'll never be rich, but my soul is at peace, and I support the minimum of parasites that I possibly can.
The other side of the internet security coin is that no goverment on the planet is going to permit secure crypto for civilians. This is anathema to all goverments, especially the police. Unbreakable encryption means no eavesdropping, loss of fiscal control and taxation.
Last but not least. A leaky, security challenged internet means justifiction for enormous budgets and enormous bureaucracy.
