Thread: Looking for a 767

    Default Looking for a 767

I cant find a good 767 that works in FSX, I found a DHL one, looked amazing, had winglets, very high quality, download it, and it doesnt work, and every other 767 is a livery I dont want.

Im looking for a 767 (rather have winglets but no winglets is fine) with a VC (doesnt need to be high detail, could be a default 737 cockpit, any VC is fine) and any United States airline livery, or a Quantas, British Airways or FedEx livery (I'd prefer a FedEx livery) or any other United States companies liveries (UPS etc)
Also it NEEDS to work in FSX, or else I cant use it
Lastly, I dont want it to hurt frame rates too bad

Freeware or payware? For payware, you can check out the ones from CLS (I have this) or Captain Sim (I don't have this).
By the way, FedEx currently does not have any 767's in operation. Though they have already ordered some.

    Hi

I have a freeware which I got last year on simviation , can't quite remember the file's name but you could do a quick search.
It also has the livery you want.

Also, search this in the flightsim library , FS2004/FSX United Airlines Boeing 767-300

    Hope it helps,

The best freeware setup is the latest SkySpirit native FSX model merged with the Freemium 757 panel.

Level-D for system realism (I dont have this)

CLS 767 for basic flying ( I have this)
CS 767 for semi basic flying, Has working FMC and is full of eyecandy, Much better than the CLS ( I also have this)

Sorry guys, I want a freeware, I dont log enough to hours for a payware to be worth the money
I found a Skyspirit 2010 FedEx that works, with an editied 737 cockpit that looks like a beleiveable 767 cockpit, but the airplane is dirty, and I dont really like it, I'll try the Skyspirit stuff

I'm a FedEx fan and also have the dirty plane you've got. I dug around and actually found a nice clean FedEx 767 SkySpirit 2010 livery here.
You can add that cleaner paint to the one you have, or start with another SkySpirit 2010 plane.
"FS2004/FSX FedEx Boeing 767-300"(fedex-2.zip) by Steve McBee(library here). It is for a correct freighter model(below).
It will take a little work to add it to an existing SkySpirit 2010 plane, but the results are well worth it.

I started with Fabio Cabral's Excellent "FSX Varig Boeing 767-300"(skyspirit_2010_boeing_b767-383er_v5_varig_pp-voi.zip)
Important: It has both the Pratt/Whitney and GE(new livery) style *.air files, so will be useable with models of both persuasions.

Before you start making the mods, be darn sure your SkySpirit 2010 plane's VC works correctly and it flies right.
Verify that 767-300ER-GE-CF6-80C2.air exists in the plane's main folder. Again it is in Fabio's Varig.
It would be a waste of time if the plane is duff or the proper *.air is missing.

    1) Unzip the new livery to your desktop
    2) Rename the "new" texture.fedex folder to texture.fedexF(the F denotes freighter) before placing it in the Skyspirit 2010 767's main folder. Especially important if you add it to the dirty one.
    3) Add the new livery to your aircraft.cfg per the included readme's instructions.

    4) Create a model.F folder and copy only the interior model and model.cfg from an original model folder to it.
    5) Go here: http://ssp.cyber-ninja.jp/SSP2010Update.html and scroll to the 767-300F header and get: OSX763FV5_CF6-80C--LL.MDL
    6) Place the OSX763FV5_CF6-80C--LL.MDL in the model.F folder you created
    7) Open the model.F/model.cfg in notepad and change the normal= line to OSX763FV5_CF6-80C--LL and save it.
    8) Copy all of the 737/B737 textures from an original texture folder(Fabio's Varig has nice new ones), and paste in texture.fedexF.

    9) Best for last...Enjoy...Don

I highly recommend SkySpirit's 767 as Hiroshi Igami & Warran C Daniels are excellent at making aircraft fly right and look pretty. Their freeware aircraft are better than lots of payware counterparts. I have used POSKY (they used to be POSKY long story) since early FS2004 and have not regretted flying or downloading their aircraft yet and the community paints for them are guaranteed to keep coming.
