Budget Build PC

Hi community,

I will be having to build a computer to a budget soon for my beloved FSX. I have a really tight budget due to having a family, but would just like to know a little about video cards please.

I know that Nvidia seems to work better than ATI in FSX (my last PC had an ATI card) and I've settled on a Nvidia card; a GTX550Ti.

Simple question; will this run FSX "OK" for me? I usually frame lock the sim anyway.

Please, I do not want to get into the merits of ATI vs Nvidia. And also, I am more or less confined to the price of this card. The sim will be running off of an i5 Sandybridge 3.30Ghz, with 8GB of RAM, and the sim will be on a 128GB SSD.

The GTX 550 Ti should do fine.
If your i5 is of the 2500K persuasion, it will overclock very well.
Usually into the 4.2-4.3GHz realm with stock cooler and voltage. ie; set the multiplier to 42 and go.
Just in case: At only ~$10 more the i5-2500K is a much better performance proposition than a i5-2500...Don
