Thread: FS9.exe

  1. Default FS9.exe

Trying to sort out WOAI problem. Suggested I run a REGISTRY program which needs to know where the FS9.EXE file is.
I have looked through my FS9 files and can't find it..I also used the WIN 7 search on the START MENU which also failed to find it.
Can someone tell me where it lives please.

    The utility is here:

Your FS9.exe is the file that looks like an airplane in your FS9 files folder.
    Thanks,

    Jim

You'll probably have to run the regfix as administrator or W7 may prevent it from making any changes.

No, that's the cfg file, not the EXE file.

You probably don't have Show Extensions turned on, so it will appear as file fs9, of type EXE.

    Hope this helps,

Aerovan, did you try the suggestions made in your first thread about this problem?

I mean of course no disrespect but if your knowledge of win and FS is as limited as it seems then playing around in the registry may be a rather sticky path, you could end up with another problem, FS not starting at all.

If the installed ai aircraft are installed where they are supposed to be then FSxxx will find them, WOAI aircraft do not show in the Change Aircraft list inside FS.
If the installed Flight Plans are installed where they are supposed to be then FSxxx will find them.
If the Airport or Airfield that they are allocated to is already full or does not have the neccessary gates (parking sizes) then they will not show.

The list goes on and on

There are many reasons why and utils that can help you, but they all as far as i know work inside FS.
One example could maybe help you "AirEd" you can scroll down in the installed Aircraft/xxxx.air to the "Aircraft type =0" value and change the 0 to 2 and it should then show in the change aircraft list, then you will know for sure that FS has found it.
"BBQ Hide AI" does more or less the same thing, as a block for more than one Aircraft if you wish but only hides or shows the aircraft.

    Good luck.

Another useful utility for this is Aircraft Typer from Janosoft. It displays a list of all aircraft, the airfile name (in case of multiple airfiles in one folder), and identifies them as "aircraft", "helicopter", or "nonflyable" (AI). Highlight one or many and change the designation with a click in the menu. This is also a handy way of removing aircraft from the menu without removing them from the aircraft folder.
