    Default Adjusting the Outside View

    Hi there

I have built a generic cockpit and am using a main panel plus an overhead one made up of a variety of Simkit gauges, GoFlight modules and a lot of buttons and switches. I use three 22” monitors fed from a Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital card and use three other monitors from other graphic cards to hold other gauges and navigational equipment.

I described my set-up briefly so that it is possible to understand that I do not require the use of any 2D-cockpit panels that generally come with aircraft. A lot of my flying is with smaller single or twin prop planes such as the Beech Baron 58 or Cessna 172 etc. and what I am trying to do is to see the left engine and prop of the Baron on my left monitor and the right engine and prop on the right monitor without showing anything on the centre monitor.

Now if you use the Vcockpit on the Baron with no gauges you will get almost exactly what I am trying to show ( engine on left side ,engine on right side and props spinning ), however, you will get the skeleton of the panel showing in the centre which blocks a portion of the view to no avail. If I could remove what is showing on the centre monitor it would be great.

Now I do understand that the VCockpit panel is not like the 2D panel which is fairly easy to “Edit” to your likeing, but it is contained in the model file which I don’t think you can get at . Now my question is, as the saying goes “There is more than one way of skinning a cat” , and I wondered if there was any way of combining the screens available so that lets say the centre screen of the full outside view would be the priority screen over the Vcockpit screen? This is just an idea that may not be at all possible but if not is there any other way or means that what I have tried to describe could be done?

The extra realism that seeing the engines and spinning props provides is fantastic and I would be sincerely thankful for anyone that could point me in the right direction to achieve this.

    My thanks in anticipation.
