Default Aircraft I wish would come back for FSX

I had a tone of addons for FS2004, and I miss a lot of the titles that I haven't seen for FSX. I know there are some freeware alternatives, but they lack the quality and detail of many of the commercial products- Here's a list of some I wish I could get for FSX someday if the developers start releasing them! I'd love to hear yours as well!

    • PMDG B1900 C&D
    • PMDG 737- Although I suppose the new iFly one is pretty nice!
    • EMB 120
    • Beech King Air 350- The Carenado C90 is a nice replacement
    • MD-80-83
    • Pilatus PC-12
    • King AIR B200

An excellent FSX native Klankair 200 . Ees 'ver nice.Textures need run through DXTBMP to peel the mips off. The USMC and Navy textures needed a bit of fidling on the markings (my opinion. The only one that counts to me) Some other goodies on the site, but I'm not a tube or spamcan fan, so can't speak for those.

Is there a tutorial available that explains in general what needs to be done to convert older aircraft and make them compatible with FSX?

Not really. Because the modeler may have used different tools, or methods, not all are alike.

Generally an FS9 plane will work pretty good, except the glass and prop may not be transparent.
Search the forums for Black Glass/Black prop. Some FS2002 planes work great too, with the same issues.
The biggie is gauges. FS98 format gauges will work in FS all the way up to, and including FS9. FS98 gauges won't work at all in FSX...Don

    WD 1TB Black(FS98, CFS2&3, ROF, etc.), WD 2TB Black-(Storage/Backup)

Sounds good, thanks. I have had a little luck with some aircraft using the changes you describe and by changing out the gauges with others that I have. It's usually hit or miss and sometimes I just live with any oddities that end up in the VC, like a modeled mixture knob that does not work but was able to add one(Thrust) from the Cessna to the panel. Doesn't look perfect but you still get a working craft. Still learning, with this site as a large help with all that is FSX. Thanks all.
