Thread: Wanted: Virtual Co-Pilot to handle the radios when needed.

Angry Wanted: Virtual Co-Pilot to handle the radios when needed.

When I depart from some of these larger airports, (Like DFW, Atlanta, etc) it is customary to receive three or more altitude and/or heading changes per minute until I get out of the area. Also ATC constantly warns me to visually identify other air traffic and receive barometric altitude settings. This along with flying the airplane creates a workload that makes it "no-fun-at-all".

If there were a virtual co-pilot to handle the radios it wouldn't be so bad.

Other than "cancel IFR" what options are available ?

well thats how the traffic is handeld in fs04. if you didn't watch out for it you would hit another aircraft and have to start all over again. to lighten the work load don't go to the big airports till ya think your ready. going into major airports is a huge work load. but FLYING the plane comes first. and if you ignore atc long enough they close the ifr flight plan for you. then your on vfr

The payware program called Multi Crew Experience does exactly what you are looking for. Some don't like it because it interfaces with the default ATC. It also performs other functions at your command, e.g. changes heading, altitude, speed, etc. It can be used with default aircraft as well as a number of payware ones.
    Check out their website.

I use Pro Flight Emulator. This is an entirely seperate ATC system. Not only do you have greater control in setting up your planned flight levels, but the atc and other aircraft voices are accented depending where you are in the world/ what nationality the flight is.

Oh, it also has a co-pilot function where he will do everything from control the radios/respond to ATC to actually fly the plane, depending how you set it up.

    Sounds right up your street.
