I have Norton on my rig, so im fairly confident its not a malware/virus problem. How do I change my default plane. Right now when I start FSX, I start with the hangglider thing that has an engine. Thanks so such for the suggestions, I will try all of them.

OK, now I am completely stumped. I tried all of the above suggestions. Now I am only able to fly with prop driven planes. Anything with a jet automatically winds all the way up and then shuts off. If I start a jet flight in the air all is good, I just cant start on the ground. Please help me out here!!!

turn off your saftey settings and install under the C: Root of the hard drive. it sounds like your computer is in write protection i thing it was called AUC or something. forgot to mention when u did a reinstall did u manually delete the folder under user\nameofcomputer\roaming\microsoft\fsx. this wont be uninstalled with the normal uninstall if it was modified or altered in anyway by add ons

Ok FSX community, this is going beyond a pain in the arse. If you please read my original post, it explains my problem. I went out today and bought a brand new SSD. Now all of my planes are loading cold and dark. What is causing this?!?!?!?!? It cant possibly be old files left behind still corrupting my install. I dont even have my old yet perfectly fine HDD attatched now. I will later but I wanted to rule EVERYTHING out. You cant get a cleaner install than what I have done.

Please help me folks, I know it is a stupid setting but I installed everything to default settings. This is happening with default FSX planes, I havent add my add-ons yet.

    Thanks in advance
    Brian

If you are using a flight stick, unplug it from the computer. Start FSX and see if it will work with the keyboard. Had this happened once.
