Thread: No WOAI Traffic Landing!

    Angry No WOAI Traffic Landing!

    Hello all:

I believe I posted this problem before, but it never really got resolved. I am using WOAI as my traffic in FSX, and I have had this certain problem for a while. There is lots of AI traffic on the ground at the airports (since my airline traffic is set to 100%), but there is no AI traffic in the air flying by, on approach, or landing. So essentially, I don't see any of my WOAI traffic in the sky (once they take off from the ground they disappear after a little while like normal). I honestly can't figure out the problem - I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling all my WOAI traffic files and uninstalling any files I thought were conflicting with my WOAI.

And I know it is not one of the following problems:

    1) Wrong packages installed
    2) Not waiting long enough

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am desperately trying to fix this problem and get my FSX back to normal .

  2. Cool is this happening to all your airport

hi im not sure whats wrong but i think your fsx is corrupted and u need to reinstall it.
or maybe that at certain airports its acting up. i want you to go to different airports and c if it keep happening.
but i really feel that u need to re-install fsx and make sure u have sp1/sp2 installed also. hope it helps and make sure u r installing the packages right

Hi, thanks for your response. I honestly don't think that I need to completely uninstall/reinstall my FSX. I believe the problem is with my WOAI traffic files and uninstalling/reinstalling FSX would be a major pain with all my scenery and plane addons. And yes, I have gone to many different airports with the same result. The most I have had is maybe one or two planes landing.

How many WOAI packages do you have installed?
    Thanks,

I would say about 200 - I have basically all major airlines (and a lot of smaller ones) with all the GA packages too, I believe.

Did you run an FSX plan converter to change all the plans to FSX format? You might be seeing just part of your installed sets if you didn't.
    Thanks,

    Jim

I believe I did that when trying to find a solution to my problem and it didn't do anything.

    Hello,

And welcome to the flight sim forums!

    First of all,
Please provide more information relating to the problem:
    1. Did you install another add-on?
    2. Do you have other add-ons?
    3. Specs of the computer
    4. Specs of your FS 10 version
    5. Any information that can help; the way the AI was installed or did this happen after you have installed another add-on.

...Now to the topic at hand...

Whenever you load up a flight, the WoAI aircraft will be on the ground for a good 5 minutes, because the AI has to load up completely. you will then see some flights in the sky already and the traffic moving after 5 minutes.

If that does not happen, you might have incorrectly installed the AI Flight Plans, preventing the plane into knowing where to go, thus not moving at all (past 5 minutes).

No, FS 10 is not corrupt, nor do you have to do a clean install. This is only done as the absolute last resort.

    cheers,
Thank you for your reply! When I first installed WOAI a long time ago, this problem did not happen. It started when I got Traffic X and decided to install it. My mistake I think might have been incorrectly uninstalling WOAI to make Traffic X work. For some reason Traffic X wouldn't work, so I decided to reinstall WOAI and this is when my problem began. Part of it was my fault - instead of uninstalling/reinstalling all the packages the correct way using the installer, I deleted the files and then tried to copy and paste them back into FSX. When I realized this was a mistake, I tried to completely start over. I thought I deleted every trace of WOAI from my system to start all over, but maybe I didn't. Since then I reinstalled (the correct way) all of my packages but the problem is still there. I don't currently have Traffic X installed so it can't be conflicting with my WOAI in any way.

The ground operations are normal in terms of planes at the gates and taking off. The problem is there are no planes in the air flying by or landing at the airport! It is very frustrating....

Hope my explanation makes sense to you .

    hello,

in order to uninstall WoAI, you have to use the installer in a (master view) and uninstall them one by one. this way you should be able to remove every trace left.

i also had traffic x, it disappointed me because it had rearranged most of the parking spaces at the airports and making them look unrealistic.

there are flight-plan files in the "scenery/world/scenery" of the FSX folder, thats where the WoAI and default flight-plans are. if there are duplicates than that can be the problem, or because of the amount you have of airlines.

i will see tomorrow how my WoAI looks, if i have 200+ as well, because i do have a lot of airlines but because of the pc it loads right away.

loading the flights varies by amount of airlines and the speed your PC works at.
but because you see planes taking off, and then they disappear means that the flight departed late, so it has to re-spawn at the location it should be at to be on-time, unlike in the real world.

all was understood, now just got to solve the problem!

    cheers,
    Bartek Hryn,
