I didn't miss forums before that, and I wouldn't miss them if they all suddenly vanished.

PS- In fact many forums and moderators out there are complete rubbish so it'd be a case of 'good riddance' to them..
Example- I joined a world affairs discussion forum a while back and started talking, but was told off by a woman moderator for making 11 posts in two days, she said i was posting too much! So I packed my bags and walked, that's their wacky Basil Fawlty mentality for you..
Can I ask if you have ever administered or moderated a forum? I agree that there are good, bad and indifferent folks who moderate just as there are good, bad and indifferent folks who post. I am not defending anyone other nor am I looking for a 'fight'. However being a good moderator is not easy and the job is made much worse if they do not have the support of the community. Moderators are by and large volunteers. There is (or was) a mod on another forum not so far from here who was hounded out by the community. It was not pretty neither was it deserved IMHO.

We have gone wildly off topic now of course since the OP was asking about comments on the Flight Blog

Yes, I was an Admin/Mod and second-in-command at a well-known wargaming/military discussion forum for about 3 years and it ran smooth as silk because the atmosphere was great, all the members were sensible, decent and goodnatured. Then the Big Boss went bananas and decided to start letting disruptive troublemaking bozos in, and the good atmosphere flew out the window so i walked out in disgust and the forum is now falling to pieces.
Modding is dead easy, just screen out the bozos and any forum will thrive..

These forums: Some of the nicest friendliest, and professional people are here, including scatterbrainedkid who has helped me many times

Mods: I'm sorry about the loss of one past mod, I think his only fault was being over enthusiastic. I like JSKorna, Donnie Osmond's cousin, he's a virtual airline participant, prefers FSX and every Godly blessed thing it stands for, and Active Sky. It's good that someone understands our perspective. But the mainline mods have I think strict instructions to keep us in line.

Have to sign off, my hardware is acting strange.

    Switched computers.

Story time for the afternoon nap:

I've had new managers at various jobs who were contrary to what was expected or hoped for. Previous to that I've had successful managers who had fine tuned the company's management, and we were streamlined for success, and I was precisely in sync with the program and was set to buy a Porsche (two times actually at two companies). Then we would get a brand new manager that had no experience at all (company A she had just been a clerk, at company B she had no experience whatsoever, not even how to operate a cash register), and these people were forced onto us by the powers that be. They turned the two companies upside down to remake the entire operation. The results were kinda catastrophic at one company, eventually due to bad management in general that entire worldwide company went down the drain. At company B while it didn't seem so at first because the customer base was extremely loyal to the point of being rabid, that company I'm told is on the verge of collapse. They both also didn't recognize vital talent either so I wasn't there to work around the clock to make up for their bad management practices. Myself, lost two Porsches.

In my humble opinion, this is what has happened to the FS franchise. Worst of all they ignore the feedback that might save them.

huh? Say a bunch of nonsense, then associate that with flight doesn't make a logical argument my friend....what does a consumer product have to do with you not getting a porsche because you don't have the money to buy one? Lets stop making the "they made a mistake" comment considering you guys waste more time in the fliight forum and not talking about P3D the absolute failure Flight would have turned into had they listened to you
