Hi guys,
Do any of you know how you can assign an ILS number to an existing runway in FS2002? eg. some runways dont have an ILS, so how can you assign one-is it possible?
Thanks for advising.
Cheers,
Ash.

Try AFCAD.

I don't think AFCAD will do this.

I believe Jim is correct. There may be addon scenery software which can do this but within FS2002, what you see is what you get.
Try EasyNavs en2k351.zip or en2k400.zip.

Of course you can use AFCAD to add ILS to a runway! I hav been working wiht this to add the newly opened 3rd RWY at my home airport ESSA. You just add the RWY to the AFCAD file by clicking the menu option "add" and then runway. Add the facts in the dialog box and then you hav it! If you have the real ILS freq. use that or invent a new one for your runway. If this is a rwy that exist in your scenery file but isn't ILS enabled, that's it! Otherwise you have to add it visually of course!
BUT I have some problems with getting A/Cs to take off from my modified RWY. hey just land there. I'm not sure why....

I don't believe AFCAD will do this. Read this , from the AFCAD "readme" file:
AFCAD can display the location and other information (identifiers, frequencies etc.) for NAVAIDs, And you can change this information, but it does not change the actual NAVAID signals that your aircraft instruments use, it just changes how the NAVAIDs are presented on Flight Simulator map views and the GPS window. The NAVAID information that your virtual aircraft instruments actually use comes from a different set of files that AFCAD does not work with. It is interesting though, to see where the NAVAIDs are actually located at an airport, and you can often see some glaring errors in localiser and glide path siting.
I have also been wondering about adding ILS at those airports that are not supplied with it.
With FS98 etc. you had to use a scenery utility to do this.
Speaking of scenery, I recently tried a flight out of Taif in Saudi Arabia. I took a look at runway 17/35 and was delighted to see the placing of the ILS antenna, the Localiser shelter and the Vortac.
All exactly as I remember them from when I used to maintain them 20 years ago!
