Default question about default skins in game.

just wondering if i deleted all the default skins in the game folder then added only real repaints when im playing the game would the AI aircraft all be real world plains.

or if i just add all the major airline skins to say the 737 would i ever see them in the game as the AI.

im just tired of hearing ATC call out orbit and the stupid AI airliner names.

Any default AI would not show at all.
The FSX AI engine identifies the aircraft by it's title= line in the aircraft.cfg and needs a valid livery for it to show.

I described a way to add "Real" liveries and change the title= line to replace default AI with those here: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth...raft-texturers

It takes a while to accumulate the replacement liveries and verify that the work. Do that before editing...Don

I have done that with every version of flight simulator I have ever had.

I just slash out flightsim.0, flightsim.1, etc in the aircraft cfg file and add my repaints as flightsim.0, flightsim 1, etc.

I think I kept the texture foders just in case I ever needed them though.

Here is my 737 cfg as an example:

Sin embargo, no siempre fue así, durante los primeros años de producción Boeing recibió tan pocos pedidos llegó a considerar la cancelación del programa. No lo hicieron, y el avión ha demostrado su valía durante más de tres décadas de servicio.

But, unless you rewrite the default AI flightplan, or use Add-on AI, you will have none, zilch, nada, AI 737s.

If you change, for instance, your [fltsim.6] title=Boeing 737-800 BMIBABY, to title=Boeing 737-800 Paint2, and the original Paint 2 to title=Boeing 737-800 Paint2-User, then everywhere the "World Travel Airlines" 737 showed up it will be a BMI Baby 737 instead.

My B737 defaults were swapped for Delta(World Travel), SAA Star Alliance(Pacifica), and Lufthansa(Orbit)...Don

What do you mean rewrite the flight plan. Is that the same as just making the changes to the aircraft file and add the textures like mentioned above.

    Hi,

No, it's not quite the same thing. I'm not too familiar with editing the defult AI aircraft and flightplans. I am pretty sure that editing the aircraft.cfg file found in the 'airplanes' folder will only change callsigns etc. for the a/c if you fly them. The AI flight plans and files are done differently, for this you will need to use the program "AI Flight Planner" which allows you to edit routes, callsigns and flight numbers for the defult aircraft.

I have tried deleting the defult liveries for the aircraft (eg. 737), but for me, the AI aircraft then showed up black with no liveries on them at all! I use packages from 'World of AI' where you can download real-world airline AI aircraft with their actual routes (effective from when they were made). You can then delete the defult AI traffic if you wish to just have the real world ones in the game.

As far as repaints for the defult AI aircraft go, the best option is probably just to download some add-on airline traffic!

Hope this helps a bit - Good luck!
